About Activities

At our nurseries, we incorporate a variety of enrichment activities into the regular daily program.
Through these experiences, we hope each child will discover what they enjoy and what they’re good at, helping them unlock their full potential.

English Language Learning
(All Age Groups)

In addition to Japanese, children are engaged in English communication with native and bilingual staff. As they grow, English naturally takes on a larger role, helping them develop language skills in a balanced manner.

Art & Craft
(All Age Groups)

Children engage freely in creative expression using a variety of materials and tools. Through the joy of drawing and the excitement of creating things with their hands, they nurture rich sensitivity, meaningful imagination, and emotional development.

Rhythmic Movement & Physical Exercise
(All Age Groups)

Through age- and developmentally-appropriate physical activities, children build fundamental physical strength and motor skills. By enhancing flexibility, muscle strength, and balance, they experience the joy of movement while developing healthy bodies.

Writing Practice

Children carefully practice reading and writing Hiragana and numbers. Through structured Japanese literacy activities, they develop fundamental Japanese language skills and improve their ability to concentrate.

Soccer

We offer soccer lessons led by instructors affiliated with a professional soccer school, as well as our own staff. These sessions help children develop physical skills and teamwork, while fostering a sense of cooperation, motivation toward goals, and overall physical and emotional well-being.

You can also visit the Y.S.C.C. Official Website for more information.

Hula Dance

Hula is a traditional Hawaiian dance. Children enjoy moving their bodies to music and expressing themselves through graceful movements. This activity nurtures a sense of rhythm, flexibility, and rich expressive skills, while also fostering cultural awareness through exposure to a different tradition.

You can also visit the Lanikai Hula Studio website for more information.

Swimming

Children attend swimming lessons at a local swimming school. They gradually build their skills—from getting comfortable in the water to learning proper swimming techniques. In addition to improving physical strength, they gain an understanding of water safety and develop essential self-protection skills.

You can also visit the NEC Green Swimming Club website for further details.

Ballet

Moving to beautiful music, children develop posture and expressiveness. As they learn fundamental movements, they cultivate flexibility and a sense of rhythm, bringing out their rich sensibility and concentration.

English Art

At each of our nurseries, we regularly hold “English Art” sessions led by Ms. Irina.
These sessions incorporate principles from Waldorf education, using picture books, songs, dance, and craft activities to help children express themselves freely through art, all conducted in English.

Painting Class

Children experience the joy of freely expressing themselves using various art materials. This also serves as training to develop fine motor skills in their fingers, while nurturing creativity, a sense of color, and rich expressive abilities through the use of their five senses.
